The experience
Perched on the high ridges above Amalfi and Atrani, the ancient village of Pontone serves as the gateway to some of the coast’s most legendary heritage sites. This circular trek takes you back to the golden era of the Maritime Republic, walking from quiet village paths to the monumental ruins of the Basilica di Sant’Eustachio—a masterpiece of Romanesque-Moorish architecture. From there, the trail continues out onto the rocky promontory to the Torre dello Ziro, a medieval watchtower standing guard over the Tyrrhenian Sea, where you will enjoy a scenic local picnic.
